The people.
Life in Japan at its essence.

My first night ride

In order to get to Fuji Speedway by 9:00 AM on Saturday it became evident that a late night departure was in order.

I came home from work on Friday night and started packing the bike. As it turned out I got everything ready around 2 am and decided to head out right then and there. So I headed up the hi-way over Nara mountain. The cool summer air had an outstanding floral scent as I moved out of the City of Nara and onto the back roads (rte 25) that headed over to the east side of the Kii peninsula. This and the extensive fog that shrouded the 2 lane roads kept me wide awake. That and the 4 cans of ice coffee that I knocked back on various rest stops.

Just before I got to the outskirts of Nagoya the sun began to come up. It was an impressive sight.

From here the route would be all highway. And all toll roads. I cant wait for the southern bi-pass to be completed around Nagoya city because the route up around the north side of the city adds an additional hour onto the trip. Snaking along the coast the trip

The place.
A lot of dust and dirt and other stuff.

There were a lot of HOG chapters represented.
I tired to capture as many of them as possible.
